Every day I see 30 or so Carnabys fly over my yard in Vic Park. It devastates my soul to know the majority of these birds are over breeding age (35 to 50 years) and that we may be among the last to witness these flypasts. They will only mate in food plenty areas so why doesn't the govt set up protected boxes for them in these areas?? Every time I go through a red light or speed camera I think about what these people are really doing for us. So much revenue for so little payback. The Carnabys represent the last of the real Australia. The ones you see now where 15 or twenty when World Series cricket was invented by Kerry Packer. Beyond then they lived in a eutopia unparalleled. Lets bring it back. Train one eye on the plight of the Carnabys and you fix many problems in Bird society. Nesting boxes and food is all it will take after the education of local bird killers (sorry) farmers/orchardists. The nesting grounds are already in place. If you like this idea email me at centrocarsales@gmail.com and let's take a real step towards saving a lovely majestic bird that may never be seen again.
Lets save the Carnaby
